SUMMARY:

What does it feel like to have OCD? This is the question at the heart of Gregory Gene Conrad's memoir. This first-hand account offers a brief, but powerful, glimpse of one man's journey inside the world of OCD. More importantly, it contains his day-in and day-out struggles to battle this oppressive monster, regain his freedom, and take control of his life. It is a tale of victory and defeat. It is a tale of endurance and survival.

Chiefly, though, it is the opportunity to walk in the shoes of a son or a daughter, of a husband or a wife, or of a friend or acquaintance who has been diagnosed with this debilitating and often paralyzing disease. It is the chance to better understand what your loved one is going through and why they do the irrational things they do despite the destructive consequences that they face...and then repeat them over and over again.

REVIEWS:

"Gregory Conrad's 31‑day accounting of life with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a journey into trials of despair and sweet respites of redemption. This is a true insider's chronicle of the treacherous inner workings of this oftentimes paralyzing disorder. While it entices the reader deep inside the mind of one with OCD, the author also boldly pulls back enough to invite a deep reflection with him. This is a touching and poignant slice of memoir told with humor, angst, and integrity. It evokes heart and compassion."

MITCHELL LEVICK, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist

"It’s amazing. It’s one of the most profoundly compelling pieces of writing I’ve ever seen."

DAVE CONGER, Accomplished Author

Gregory Conrad takes his readers inside his mind for just 31 days of his life, showing what his thoughts are and why they are reasonable to him while at the same time recognizing that they are the result of his OCD illness. His book shows his daily struggles to develop more self‑awareness and implement the strategies he has learned through years of professional therapy. Some parts are painful and others humorous, but all are written with care and honesty in this captivating narrative.”
